Kuwait, 30 May 2026: Kuwait International Bank (KIB) concluded its official sponsorship of the State of Kuwait’s participation in the 4th GCC Games, held in the Qatari capital, Doha, from May 11 to 22, with broad participation from athletes representing GCC countries. The sponsorship reflects the Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti youth and empowering national talents, while reinforcing Kuwait’s presence at regional and international sporting events.

The Kuwaiti sports delegation delivered outstanding results during the Games, winning a total of 60 medals, including 14 gold, 17 silver, and 29 bronze, in an achievement that highlights the skill and determination of Kuwaiti athletes across various sports.

Commenting on the occasion, Marwa Marafie, Manager of the Corporate Communications Department at KIB, said: “We are proud to sponsor the Kuwaiti sports delegation’s participation in the 4th GCC Games and to celebrate this sporting achievement, embodying the determination and ambition of Kuwait’s youth. We are equally proud of our close partnership with the Kuwait Olympic Committee, which played a pivotal role in preparing for the delegation’s participation, organizing the team, and providing all logistical and technical arrangements. These efforts included facilitating the delegation’s movement and creating a suitable environment that supported the athletes’ readiness for competition, demonstrating a successful model of collaboration in advancing Kuwaiti sports.”

She added: “We believe that supporting Kuwaiti athletes is a true investment in national talent and a catalyst for continued achievements that raise Kuwait’s profile at sporting events.”

From his side, Abdulaziz Al-Thawab, Assistant Manager of the Corporate Communications Department, emphasized: “We deeply value the tremendous efforts made by the male and female athletes, as well as the technical and administrative teams, throughout the Games. We look forward to continuing to support initiatives and activities that advance the sports sector and empower youth.

Al-Thawab also stated: “We are proud of the commendable results achieved by the Kuwaiti delegation, underscoring the commitment and teamwork that distinguished Kuwait’s participation in the tournament. We also reaffirm KIB’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that help identify young talent and provide an enabling environment for them to achieve further success.”

It is worth noting that KIB’s support for sports initiatives and Kuwaiti athletes falls under its comprehensive corporate social responsibility strategy, which aims to empower youth and promote a culture of achievement and ambition. It also supports activities that help reinforce positive values and encourage healthy lifestyles, creating a positive impact on society and helping showcase Kuwait’s positive image across various platforms.
