LAHORE: Oxford University Press Pakistan and The City School Network have signed an MoU to launch The City Verse, a nationwide poetry competition for students in Grades 1–8 across The City School’s 150 plus campuses in Pakistan.

Inspired by the Oxford International Primary and Secondary English series, The City Verse extends learning beyond the classroom by providing students with an opportunity to apply their language and creative writing skills through the creation of original poetry. Designed around a project-based learning framework, the competition encourages creativity, self-expression, and independent learning. Entries will be evaluated by an independent jury, with finalists and national winners selected from across the country.

The <a href="https://middleeastdaily.net/burgan-bank-honors-kuwaits-top-ranking-graduates-in-collaboration-with-the-ministry-of-education/”>collaboration reflects the shared commitment of OUP Pakistan and The City School Network to promoting literacy and enriching learning opportunities for students nationwide.

Speaking on the occasion, Fariha Usman, Head of Early Years Resource Centre, The City School Network, said that The City Verse reflects the school network’s commitment to nurturing creativity beyond the classroom and expressed confidence that the collaboration with OUP Pakistan would inspire students across the country to express themselves with confidence and imagination.

Tariq Yar Khan, Product Director, Oxford University Press Pakistan, said that strong writing skills help young people think critically and communicate effectively. He added that OUP Pakistan was delighted to partner with The City School Network through The City Verse to celebrate and amplify student voices across the country.
