ISLAMABAD: On 28 July 2026, the Immigration Attaché Office of the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad organised the 104th Immigration Day Celebration to commemorate more than a century of dedicated service by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. The event was officiated by His Excellency Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and attended by the Home-Based Staff and Locally Recruited Staff of the High Commission, as well as officers and staff of the Immigration Attaché Office. Held under the theme “Melakar Wajah Baharu Imigresen” (“Delivering the New Face of Immigration”), the celebration reflected the Department’s commitment to transformation, innovation, digitalisation and service excellence.

Celebrated annually on 21 July, Immigration Day serves as an important occasion to honour the invaluable <a href="https://middleeastdaily.net/abdulla-bin-damithan-were-proud-of-emirati-womens-contributions-to-dubais-economy-through-their-<a href="https://middleeastdaily.net/yango-group-expands-great-place-to-work-certification-from-nine-to-17-countries/”>work-at-pcfc/”>contributions, sacrifices and unwavering commitment of immigration personnel who have faithfully served the nation in upholding the integrity and security of Malaysia’s borders. This year’s celebration in Islamabad was held on 28 July 2026, reflecting the Department’s continued commitment to recognising the dedication of its officers serving abroad.

    In her welcoming remarks, Mrs

Wan Zetti Rafina binti Wan Mohamad Zuki, Immigration Attaché, highlighted the Department’s ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery through digital transformation, particularly improvements to Malaysia’s online visa application platform. She noted that these initiatives had improved accessibility, efficiency and convenience for travellers and visa applicants while ensuring compliance with Malaysia’s immigration and security requirements. She also expressed appreciation to officers, locally recruited staff and colleagues at the High Commission for their dedication, teamwork and continued support.

Following the celebration, a networking and engagement session was held with representatives of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and local travel agencies. The session provided a useful platform to strengthen cooperation with the business and travel sectors, exchange views and enhance understanding of Malaysia’s immigration policies and facilitation initiatives.

Participants were briefed on Malaysia’s eVISA system, including the online application process, documentation requirements, processing timelines and common issues faced by applicants. They were also introduced to the Malaysia Premium Visa Programme (MYPVIP), which offers eligible foreign nationals opportunities for long-term residence in Malaysia. The programme concluded with the Immigration Attaché Office reaffirming its commitment to delivering efficient, professional and customer-oriented services in line with the Department’s values of integrity, professionalism and friendliness.
