CINET Redefines Kuwait’s Credit Infrastructure Through a Strategic Collaboration with Google Cloud

    • A transformative leap in credit applications and the use of artificial intelligence, advancing the company’s vision to become Kuwait’s leading data hub.

Kuwait, September: In a move reflecting a significant shift in Kuwait’s financial sector, the Kuwait Credit Information Network Company (CINET), the country’s leading and sole provider of credit information and credit scorings, has announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud. This initiative goes beyond system modernization to fundamentally reshape Kuwait’s credit infrastructure.

This step does not merely represent a technological migration to cloud computing, but rather reflects a deeper transformation in how value is created within the credit ecosystem, shifting from a traditional credit bureau model to an integrated model driven by data, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence.

By adopting Google Cloud technologies at this scale, CINET is establishing a flexible and scalable digital architecture capable of addressing the increasing complexities of financial markets while responding more efficiently to evolving regulatory requirements. CINET is also one of the first entities in Kuwait’s financial sector to adopt Google Cloud at this level of integration, reinforcing its role as a key driver of financial infrastructure transformation.

    Commenting on the collaboration, Mrs

Mai Bader AlOwaish, Chief Executive Officer of CINET, said: “This collaboration represents a structural transformation in how data is utilized within the credit ecosystem in Kuwait, as we move from a traditional model to an operational model driven by data and advanced analytics. The company is placing particular emphasis on strengthening its technological capabilities through investment in advanced digital systems and the development of expertise in data science and artificial intelligence, in line with its vision to become Kuwait’s leading data hub”.

For his part, Meshari AlMohammad, Chief Information Technology Officer at CINET, highlighted the significant impact of this step, stating: “The adoption of Google technologies enables the re-engineering of operational systems and marks a transformative leap in credit applications, with a strong focus on automation, the enablement of more advanced models, and data analysis across various sectors. This transformation empowers us to enhance the efficiency of credit assessments and further develop credit services, while maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and regulatory compliance”.

Commenting on the collaboration, Mrs. Shaymaa Nabeel Alterkait , General Manager for Google in the region, said:
“This collaboration reflects the advanced capabilities of cloud technologies in reshaping the digital infrastructure of the financial sector. Google Cloud enables organizations to build data-driven architectures powered by advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, allowing for large-scale, near real-time data processing. We also provide a secure and flexible cloud environment built on the highest standards of cybersecurity and compliance, enabling organizations to accelerate innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and respond effectively to evolving market demands.”

This transformation comes at a time when data is increasingly recognized as a strategic asset in the financial sector, where competitive advantage is no longer defined by access to information alone, but by the ability to analyze and effectively leverage it. In this context, CINET is well-positioned to lead this shift, while maintaining full alignment with the highest standards of data governance and the requirements of the Central Bank of Kuwait.

At a broader level, this initiative aligns with the transition toward a more integrated digital economy. CINET continues to enhance digital channels, expand digital credit enablement, and elevate customer experience, within a modern operating model driven by innovation and the full utilization of data.
