KARACHI: One of Pakistan’s leading higher education institutions, Iqra University Business School (IUBS), successfully organized ECON FLIMORA 11.0 – Reimagining Economics Through Visualization at the Mini Auditorium, EDC, Main Campus, Karachi, bringing together students, faculty members, industry professionals and invited guests to celebrate creativity, innovation and applied learning in business economics.

Sponsored by Faysal Funds, ECON FLIMORA 11.0 highlighted how visual storytelling can make economic concepts more engaging and easier to understand. The initiative encouraged students to turn business and economics themes into short visual narratives, combining research, creativity, teamwork and communication skills. This year, students from 14 sections, representing more than 600 participants, worked in teams to produce videos on diverse business economics topics. A total of 24 videos were screened before an audience of over 100 students, faculty members and guests, reflecting the students’ ability to simplify complex economic ideas through practical and creative presentation.
The event was conceptualized and led by Dr. Ammar Ahmed Siddiqui (Head of Department), with co-supervision by Ms. Nargis Noman (Lecturer). The judges and distinguished guests included Noman Shabbir, Senior Media Person and PR Professional, along with Mr.Tauseef Shah, Mr. Shawn Ivan, Dr. Iffat Mughal and Mr. Mirza Naveed Baig. The panel appreciated the students’ work and highlighted the importance of analytical thinking, communication, problem-solving and confidence in academic and professional growth.Speaking on the occasion, Noman Shabbir said it was encouraging to see students presenting economic issues through short films. He said the idea not only made a traditionally dry subject more visual and interesting but also created an immersive learning experience for students. He thanked the faculty for giving students an opportunity to explore economics through creativity and said other universities should also consider adopting similar learning formats.

Following a detailed evaluation process by the judges, the Aggregate Demand Group secured First Position and received a cash prize of PKR 30,000 for its strong presentation, creativity and conceptual clarity. The Market Power Group earned Second Position with PKR 20,000, while the Exports Group secured Third Position and received PKR 10,000 for its insightful presentation.

Faculty representatives said ECON FLIMORA continues to support learning beyond the conventional classroom by encouraging students to understand economics through visualization, collaboration and practical application. The success of ECON FLIMORA 11.0 reflects *Iqra University’s continued focus on academic excellence, experiential learning and industry engagement. As one of Pakistan’s recognized higher education institutions, Iqra University continues to promote learning models that prepare students to address real-world challenges through creativity, critical thinking and innovation.
