<a href="https://middleeastdaily.net/snoonu-arrives-in-kuwait-a-new-era-of-everyday-technology/”>Kuwait, 11 May 2026: Kuwait International Bank (KIB), in collaboration with Visa, announced the launch of Visa+, a new service that enables customers to receive international transfers seamlessly using only their mobile number, without the need to share complex banking details.

This service, the first of its kind in Kuwait’s banking sector, allows KIB customers to link their registered mobile number to the card of their choice through the KIB Mobile application, making it easier and more secure to receive funds from abroad.

Launched for retail customers, the service responds to growing demand for fast, convenient, and secure financial solutions. By integrating Visa+ into its digital ecosystem, KIB simplifies the process of receiving cross-border transfers, eliminating traditional barriers associated with lengthy banking information and aligning with the latest global payment innovations.

Commenting on the launch, Mohammed El-Shareef, General Manager of Digital Innovation and Data Intelligence at KIB, said: “The launch of Visa+ comes as part of the Bank’s direction toward empowering customers to adopt smarter and more seamless digital operating models. At KIB, we believe that true innovation lies in building an integrated digital ecosystem that enhances operational efficiency and simplifies customers’ lives, in line with the Bank’s strategy to strengthen its digital infrastructure.”

El-Shareef added: “Through this service, KIB focuses on delivering added value that strengthens customer trust and keeps pace with their evolving needs in a rapidly developing financial landscape. The technologies integrated into Visa+ ensure that transfers are received instantly and reliably. This initiative reflects the Bank’s commitment to adopting the latest global financial technologies and tailoring them to serve the Kuwaiti community.”

He noted that this step represents a new milestone in KIB’s digital journey, placing technology at the service of customers to deliver a secure and seamless payments experience. He added that the ongoing collaboration with a strategic partner such as Visa contributes to offering leading banking solutions that exceed expectations and support Kuwait’s vision of transforming into a thriving digital economy.

El-Shareef emphasized that KIB spares no effort in achieving the objectives of its strategy to strengthen digital infrastructure, continuing to implement initiatives focused on restructuring its business model and introducing new digital banking solutions such as Click to Pay and the Fast Transfer service. He also highlighted KIB’s commitment to attracting a broad customer base by offering smarter financial tools that align with modern lifestyles, further reinforcing its notable position in advanced financial solutions within the local market.

It is worth noting that KIB continues to enhance its digital banking ecosystem by introducing innovative financial solutions that offer customers greater convenience and peace of mind, reinforcing its commitment to its main slogan, “Bank for Life.” The Visa+ service, now available through the KIB Mobile application, reflects the Bank’s dedication to delivering forward-looking banking experiences in the Kuwaiti market.

18 November 2025 (Brussels) — The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reiterated its strong concern that proposed reforms by the European Parliament to EU261 consumer rights regulation will entrench and worsen its flaws, which have ensured ever-rising costs to consumers and airlines, while failing to tackle the main concerns of passengers. The shortcomings of EU261 have been known for years. In June, European governments finally acted to put in place changes to EU261 that would safeguard connectivity and preserve the competitiveness of European aviation.
