Pakistan Wins Its First-Ever Team Challenge Trophy, Four Silver Medals, and Five Diplomas at One of Asia’s Largest Culinary Competitions

    By Rafiq Vayani

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistan has once again made its mark on the international culinary stage as Eat Guild Team Pakistan delivered an exceptional performance at the GCCM Global Culinary Cup Malaysia 2026, returning home with one Team Challenge Trophy (Silver), four Silver Medals, and five Diplomas of Excellence.

Representing Pakistan was a compact yet determined delegation of five members, led by internationally acclaimed Chef Faiza Bilal Khan. Despite being one of the smallest national teams at the competition, Eat Guild Team demonstrated extraordinary skill, discipline, and teamwork, proving that excellence is measured by performance rather than numbers.

This year marked a historic milestone for Pakistan, as it was the first time the country participated in the prestigious GCCM Team Challenge. In an impressive debut, Team Pakistan not only competed against some of the world’s finest culinary teams but also secured the Silver Team Challenge Trophy, bringing immense pride and international recognition to the nation.

    The team’s outstanding achievements include:

    • 1 Team Challenge Trophy (Silver)
    • 4 Silver Medals
    • 5 Diplomas of Excellence

The GCCM Global Culinary Cup Malaysia 2026 was one of the largest culinary competitions ever organized in the region. The event welcomed participants from more than 36 countries and received over 1,000 competition entries, making it one of the biggest and most significant culinary championships in Malaysia’s history. Competing and earning podium finishes in such a highly competitive international arena further highlights the significance of Team Pakistan’s achievement.

Leading the delegation was Chef Faiza Bilal Khan, an internationally recognized chef, culinary educator, and certified international culinary judge. In addition to leading the national team, Chef Faiza represented Pakistan on the international judging panel, becoming Pakistan’s only female international culinary judge currently serving at GCCM. This also marks her second consecutive year representing Pakistan as an international judge, reinforcing Pakistan’s growing presence and credibility within the global culinary fraternity.

Speaking on the achievement, Chef Faiza Bilal Khan said, “This victory belongs to Pakistan. Our delegation may have been small, but our dreams and determination were immense. Making history by competing in Pakistan’s first-ever GCCM Team Challenge and returning with a trophy is a proud moment for every Pakistani. It proves that our chefs have the talent, discipline, and passion to stand among the world’s best.”

The success of Team Pakistan reflects the continuous growth of Pakistan’s culinary industry and the rising standard of its young chefs. Their achievements have not only elevated Pakistan’s reputation internationally but have also inspired aspiring culinary professionals to pursue excellence beyond borders.

The delegation extends its sincere appreciation to the organizers of the GCCM Global Culinary Cup Malaysia, the distinguished international jury, supporters, mentors, and everyone who contributed to this remarkable journey.

As Pakistan continues to expand its presence in international culinary competitions, this historic accomplishment stands as a symbol of resilience, talent, and national pride.

Pakistan’s delegation may have been small—but its achievement was monumental.
