KARACHI: The Consul for Information and Socio Cultural Affairs, Mrs Dian Ratri Astuti, representing the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi was honored to participate as one of the Guests of Honor at the opening of the 17th Consumers Food Safety and Quality Conference, organized by the CAP on Wednesday, 5 August 2026 in Pearl Contenantal Hotel, Karachi.
The conference was further enriched by the Global Flavors Pavilion 2026: Taste of 7 Nations, a prestigious international culinary, cultural, and food safety showcase presented by the talented students of COTHM. The students proudly prepared and showcased authentic Indonesian specialties, including Nasi Uduk, Ayam Bakar, Risoles, and Klepon, alongside signature dishes from Oman, Japan, China, Yemen, Morocco, and Sri Lanka.
The pavilion generated tremendous enthusiasm among visitors and provided a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, demonstrating how food serves as a universal language that fosters mutual understanding, friendship, and respect among nations.
At the same time, the event underscored the importance of ensuring food quality and safety as essential elements in preserving culinary heritage and building consumer confidence.
Indonesia’s participation reflects its continued commitment to promoting gastrodiplomacy as an integral part of cultural diplomacy, while further strengthening the longstanding friendship and bilateral relations between Indonesia and Pakistan through meaningful people-to-people engagement.
