KIB supports school supplies collection initiative in collaboration with Jahra Mall

Kuwait, 15 September 2026: As part of its commitment to social responsibility and sustainable practices, and in line with the social and environmental pillars of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, Kuwait International <a href=”https://middleeastdaily.net/dukhan-bank-announces-september-winners-in-tharaa-savings-account-prize-draw/”>Bank (KIB) supported an initiative to collect pre-owned school supplies. Organized by Jahra Mall, the initiative coincided with the back-to-school season.

The initiative aimed to encourage community members to donate school supplies that were still in good condition for reuse, while the supplies were directed toward recycling and distributed to families in need. The initiative saw participation from people of various age groups, supported by volunteers who assisted with the collection and sorting process. Their involvement reflected a strong spirit of cooperation and social responsibility, while helping raise awareness of the importance of conserving resources and reducing waste.

Commenting on the initiative, Abdulaziz Al-Thawab, Assistant Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, said: “At KIB, we believe community initiatives have the greatest impact when they empower individuals to take part and make a positive difference themselves. This is why supporting this initiative was especially meaningful, as it gave pre-owned school supplies a new purpose by turning them into valuable resources for others, just in time for the start of the new academic year.”

Al-Thawab added: “The initiative also carries an important message about our shared responsibility toward the resources we use and the importance of extending their useful life whenever possible, rather than simply discarding them. Initiatives like this provide a practical way to combine community service with promoting more conscious and sustainable behaviors, values that we are committed to reinforcing through KIB’s social responsibility program and our ESG approach.”

KIB’s support for the initiative coincided with its participation in back-to-school activities through a dedicated booth at Jahra Mall over a three-week period. The booth enabled the Bank to engage directly with families and mall visitors, while showcasing its products, services, and range of banking solutions designed to suit their needs and lifestyles.

KIB’s presence at Jahra Mall during the back-to-school season reflected its continued commitment to staying close to customers during occasions that form part of their everyday lives. It also provided an opportunity to engage with them beyond the Bank’s branches and traditional banking channels, strengthening direct communication and gaining deeper insight into their needs and aspirations.

It is worth noting that KIB remains committed to participating in a wide range of community occasions and maintaining a presence at destinations that bring together different segments of society. Through these activities, the Bank continues to strengthen its relationships with both customers and the wider community, while reaffirming its commitment to being a close and trusted partner throughout the various stages of their lives, in line with its main slogan, “Bank for Life.”
