Ooredoo Kuwait Marks Kuwaiti Women’s Day: Investing in Women Empowerment is a National Investment

Kuwait City – 16 May 2026 — At a time when Kuwaiti women are playing an increasingly influential role in shaping the nation’s economic and social landscape, Ooredoo Kuwait has reaffirmed its position as one of the country’s leading corporate advocates for female empowerment, marking Kuwaiti Women’s Day with a renewed commitment to diversity, inclusion and leadership development.

The leading telecom company and digital enabler confirmed that women now represent 28.5% of its workforce, with a growing presence across senior management and strategic leadership positions; reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to promoting equal opportunities and nurturing local talent.

The announcement comes amid broader national efforts to expand women’s participation across key sectors of the Kuwaiti economy, where female professionals are increasingly occupying decision-making roles and contributing to the country’s development agenda.

Since its establishment, Ooredoo Kuwait has maintained that meaningful investment begins with people, believing that sustainable corporate growth depends on attracting capable talent and fostering a workplace culture built on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.

Within that framework, the company says the advancement of Kuwaiti women has not been treated as a symbolic initiative, but rather as an integral part of its operational and leadership strategy.

The company attributed this progress to a combination of supportive national policies, evolving legislation and a growing recognition of the capabilities of Kuwaiti women in both the public and private sectors. Ooredoo Kuwait said it has sought to mirror these national ambitions internally by offering professional development programmes, leadership pathways and equitable opportunities for career progression.

Ooredoo Kuwait also stressed that empowering women cannot be separated from broader national development goals. Instead, the company views gender inclusion as a core element in building a modern and balanced institution capable of harnessing the full potential of Kuwaiti talent.

Alongside its focus on women’s advancement, the company continues to support young Kuwaitis through internship programmes, volunteering opportunities, community initiatives and entrepreneurship support schemes aimed at preparing a new generation to lead the country’s digital economy.

Over recent years, Ooredoo Kuwait has built a reputation around social responsibility, investment in people and the nurturing of local talent, helping position the company among Kuwait’s most attractive employers for ambitious young professionals.

The company added that genuine empowerment extends beyond representation or numerical targets. Rather, it is rooted in trust, opportunity, and the freedom to innovate; principles that have enabled many Kuwaiti women within the organisation to emerge as influential leaders across a wide range of departments.

Marking Kuwaiti Women’s Day, Ooredoo Kuwait reiterated its commitment to expanding women’s representation in leadership positions and creating further opportunities for professional growth in line with Kuwait’s long-term national vision.

As major institutions around the world increasingly redefine leadership through the lens of diversity and inclusion, Ooredoo Kuwait presented its own experience as evidence that Kuwaiti women are not merely participants in success, but architects of it — driving progress, shaping industries and helping build the future.

The company concluded with a message underscoring the wider national significance of women’s empowerment: investing in women, it said, is ultimately an investment in society itself — and the achievements realised so far represent only the beginning of a broader journey led by Kuwaiti talent towards greater innovation, leadership and excellence.
