Ericsson and Zain Jordan deepen their long-term partnership, entering a new phase of a major Business Support Systems (BSS) transformation project.

    News Desk

AMMAN: Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Zain Jordan have announced the next phase of their longstanding and trusted partnership to modernize Zain’s Business Support Systems (BSS). This significant project will advance Zain Jordan’s digital transformation, preparing its IT infrastructure for the demands of the 5G era and modernizing digital service delivery for its customers across the Kingdom.

This new phase deepens the long-standing collaboration between the two companies by extending its scope to include the postpaid line of business, enabling new revenue streams across both segments.

The agreement underpins Ericsson’s role as a key partner in Zain Jordan’s journey to build a flexible, scalable, and agile digital ecosystem. The modernization is a critical step in advancing Jordan’s digital economy by enabling Zain Jordan to offer more innovative and personalized digital services at scale.

The scope of the deal is a comprehensive upgrade of Zain Jordan’s BSS architecture, including:

    • Cloud-native billing: Upgrading Ericsson Billing on Red Hat OpenShift in Zain Jordan’s private cloud to boost speed, scalability, cost-efficiency, and support agile 5G monetization.
    • Real-time data insights: Deploying Ericsson’s Telco DataOps Platform to enable real-time streaming, proactive customer experience management, network optimization, and data-driven decisions, laying the groundwork for AI-driven autonomous networks.
    • Catalog-driven architecture: Introducing catalog and order management for postpaid products to enable a catalog-driven model and faster launch of innovative offers.

Wessam Abu Hashhash, Chief Technology and Digital Innovation Officer, says:” This next phase of our BSS transformation with Ericsson marks a strategic milestone in Zain Jordan’s ongoing digital evolution. By advancing our IT stack to a cloud-native, data-driven architecture, we are strengthening our ability to design and deliver more innovative, agile, and personalized digital services. This transformation will further elevate the customer experience while reinforcing our leadership in the digital services landscape and establishing a future-ready foundation to unlock the full potential of the 5G era.”

Ahsan Quaderi, Country Manager and Head of Sales, Ericsson Jordan, says: “We are proud to deepen our long-standing partnership with Zain Jordan. With these new and upgraded elements of our cloud-native BSS portfolio, we are supporting Zain Jordan’s ambitions to drive outcomes-based advancements in its business through the deployment of more agile, efficient, and scalable technology. This collaboration underscores our commitment to Zain Jordan’s success and our shared vision of creating a more connected and dynamic digital future for the Kingdom.”

This continued partnership marks a significant milestone in Zain Jordan’s cloud-native evolution across its entire IT stack.

By leveraging Ericsson’s advanced BSS portfolio, Zain Jordan is not only enhancing its current service offerings but also laying a robust and future-proof foundation for next-generation connectivity, enabling differentiated connectivity-based services, new 5G revenue streams, and superior digital experiences for millions of subscribers.
